Skinny is better. That message is drilled into many sportswomen [& men], with damaging effects | ABC News

Jockeys hear one-hundred times a day, comments about their weight, appearance and what they eat or drink. These comments are from uneducated individuals, usually, in regards to human nutrition and physiology. Ignorance within the racing industry about how jockeys are spoken to, especially when it comes to weight, can have drastic effects on mental health as seen in this ABC Program.

Creating change with any sporting culture takes time, however we need to make changes now to ensure the safety of the athletes mind and quality of life.
